Yadav voters are no longer with SP, on top of that Muslims are also leaving Akhilesh’s side.

The Samajwadi Party has hit a ‘four’ of defeat in the last ten years. This series of defeat started from the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, continued till the defeat in the 2022 Legislative Assembly once again after the 2017 Legislative Assembly and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Every time SP had to face defeat from BJP. Akhilesh has tried all the bets in front of BJP. Now in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SP President and former CM Akhilesh Yadav will once again have an election test, but this time also Akhilesh’s path is not looking easy. Now even Akhilesh has no new ‘experiment’ left. He has contested elections in alliance with Congress and BSP. Rashtriya Lok Dal and Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party have also been tried, but none of the experiments could stop the process of their defeat. The situation has become such that as of today, Akhilesh Yadav is looking completely ‘lonely’ for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party are moving away from the Samajwadi Party, besides its current allies Chaudhary Jayant Singh of the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar are also moving towards the BJP alliance.

Not only its allies are leaving the Samajwadi Party i.e. Akhilesh, but many old leaders have also left the side. That Muslim leader is also leaving the Samajwadi Party, who once considered Mulayam Singh as his leader, but his displeasure with Akhilesh is increasing. There are many leaders in this who were very close to Mulayam. In October last year, the SP suffered such a severe blow in the Muslim-majority district of Sambhal that Haji Azam Qureshi, the leader of his party and former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy, became disenchanted with the SP. Qureshi got down from SP’s cycle and joined BJP. Impressed by PM Narendra Modi’s policies, Qureshi joined BJP and is working to connect Muslims with the party. Attacking SP chief Akhilesh Yadav after joining BJP, Haji Azam Qureshi is even alleging that Akhilesh is showing fear of BJP to Muslims by tweeting only sitting in his office, but Muslims understood the reality. Who is with the Muslims and who sheds crocodile tears for them.

If we look at the reason for the displeasure of Muslims with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, it is known that the biggest displeasure of Muslims with Akhilesh Yadav is that the SP chief is not speaking in support of Muslims. The Muslim community says that Muslims are being targeted. Akhilesh is not raising any voice against the action being taken against him. Even Akhilesh rarely opens his mouth against the problems and oppression of Muslims. Apart from this, the neglect of Azam Khan, who walked shoulder to shoulder with Mulayam Singh at the time of formation of Samajwadi Party, is also taking a toll on Akhilesh. Some political experts say that the displeasure of the Muslims is not without reason, they wanted Azam Khan to be made the leader of the opposition in the assembly. Arguing behind this, the Muslims said that if the SP had won the election, Akhilesh would have become the Chief Minister, but after the defeat, at least Azam would have been given due respect. This is also a major reason for the displeasure of Muslim leaders. Muslim voters unite in favor of SP at the time of elections, but SP’s core Yadav voters are moving away from Akhilesh. Most of the leaders who left the party say that the Muslims unitedly voted for the Samajwadi Party in the elections, but the SP’s Yadav voters did not completely join them. Due to this, the election was defeated. Even after this, Akhilesh’s not speaking on issues related to Muslims is increasing the resentment.

If we talk about the strong leaders of the Samajwadi Party, who are angry with the party, then all the leaders from MP Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Burke are included in it. Samajwadi Party’s MP from Sambhal, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Bark attacks his own party and says that he is not satisfied with the work of BJP. The BJP government is not working in the interest of Muslims. Then he sarcastically says that leave the BJP, the Samajwadi Party itself is not working in the interests of the Muslims. Dr. Masood, who was the state president of SP’s ally RLD, had sent his resignation to the national president of the party just a few days after the 2022 assembly election results. In this, along with RLD president Jayant Chaudhary, he fiercely targeted SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh was even called a dictator. SP was also accused of selling tickets.

Meanwhile, Imran Masood and Saharanpur’s SP leader Sikandar Ali left the party. While leaving the party, Sikandar said that he worked in SP for two decades. The SP President is doing the work of showing his back like a coward. Muslims are being neglected. Sikandar said that big Muslim leaders of SP are lodged in jails but the silence of Akhilesh Yadav is painful. District Vice President of Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade Saharanpur Adnan Chowdhary has also resigned from the party accusing Akhilesh Yadav. Adnan Chaudhary said that Akhilesh Yadav’s beak is completely closed on the atrocities on Muslims.

Recently, Sultanpur city president Kasim Raine also resigned from all his posts. He said that Akhilesh Yadav is not interested in raising his voice against the atrocities on Muslims. Azam Khan’s entire family was put in jail but Akhilesh Yadav did not speak. Nahid Hasan was jailed and Shahjil Islam’s petrol pump was demolished but the SP President did not raise his voice on this. Irshad Khan, who was a minister of state in the SP government, also resigned from the party, accusing it of neglecting the Muslims. He accused SP national president Akhilesh Yadav of ignoring Muslims. Irshad said that the Muslim has always been with the Samajwadi Party. But he could not get respectable participation in power and organization. Noorpur block president of Samajwadi Party Yuvjan Sabha Bijnor Mohammad Hamza Sheikh has also left the party. Hamza Sheikh said that Akhilesh Yadav shies away from Muslims. He remains silent even after seeing the atrocities on Muslims. They don’t do any movement regarding Muslims. They do politics only on Twitter.

The importance of Muslim voters in Uttar Pradesh can be gauged from the fact that till the 1990s, the Muslim voters of Uttar Pradesh were considered traditional voters of the Congress. Till then the Congress was in a strong position in UP, but when the Muslim community moved away from the Congress due to the Ram Mandir movement, the first choice was the SP due to Mulayam Singh Yadav and after that the society gave importance to the BSP. The Muslim vote kept getting divided between these two parties, but in the 2022 elections, it unanimously went with the SP. Akhilesh Yadav got the benefit of Muslims uniting with SP. SP increased from 47 seats to 111 seats. According to the CSDS report, 83 per cent Muslims were with the SP. Muslims did not even vote for the Muslim candidates of BSP and Congress. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party was also rejected by the Muslims. The Muslim community voted in such a large number for any one party after the 1984 elections. If the Muslim voters remain united in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, then there can be a political change in the 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state. In such a situation, the Dalit-Muslim equation has returned again through Mayawati’s civic elections, so the Congress is also trying to bring her on its side. On the other hand, BJP wants to make its place among Muslims through Pasmanda card, while Asaduddin Owaisi is looking for political land on the pretext of Muslim leadership. Talking about SP, even though the Muslim leaders of the party are leaving Akhilesh’s side, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is careless about the Muslim vote bank. Akhilesh Yadav is sure that this vote will not go away from him for the time being. In such a situation, it has to be seen with whom the Muslim voters are seen standing in the politics of the future.

On the other hand, on the politics being done in Uttar Pradesh regarding the Muslim community, OP Rajbhar, president of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, says that now Muslims have become divided into four camps and have joined hands with the BJP. When Samajwadi was in power, neither a Muslim was made CM, nor was a deputy CM made, nor was a Muslim given a government job.
