Yodha Movie Review: Sidharth Malhotra, Raashi Khanna and Disha Patani-starrer action film Yoddha has finally released in theaters today, March 15, 2024. The film is based on the journey of a special task force officer Arun Katyal (Siddharth Malhotra). Who will do anything to save India from terrorists. However, this becomes difficult to do because of the political ecosystem. If you are planning to watch this high-octane action drama on the big screen, you must read this review till the end, which will give you a brief idea of what Warrior is all about and whether it is really worth your time .
Story
The story begins with Arun Katyal (played by Sidharth Malhotra) becoming the first head of his father’s special task force, Yoddha. Arun, like any other son, aspires to be like his father and serve his country. But his father advises him that uniform is not just a piece of cloth and it should be earned and its dignity should also be maintained throughout life. One day, his father is martyred during a special mission, leaving him in deep grief.
However, with strong dedication he succeeds in becoming one of the warriors, who is also one of the toughest warriors of them all. Things change completely after a hijacking incident, where he had to rescue a nuclear scientist from a situation along with other passengers in an airplane. But fails to do so and is blamed for not following orders from his senior counterparts and government officials. After which a panel sits to decide the fate of the Yodha task force. Since Arun is emotionally attached to the force, since his father was the first head of the Warriors, he fights to save the team from being banned.
direction
Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, this action-packed film is a completely fantasy-based story, which means it has no relation to any real-life incident. However, most of the story of Yoddha will appear in mid-air as the film involves more than one kidnapping incident.
In terms of direction, both Sagar and Pushkar have done a great job by delivering the high-octane action sequences in the best possible manner. If you are into action movies then Yodha is a must watch movie. The VFX used in the film is also good. There are many emotional scenes in the film which the director has depicted brilliantly on the big screen with the help of heart-touching songs and background music.
acting
On the acting front, you will not be disappointed with the performances of any of the lead actors. However, in my opinion Sidharth Malhotra could have done better when it comes to romantic scenes with Raashi Khanna. On the other hand, both the leading ladies were perfect in their roles. You will love Raashi for her cute bubbly looks and acting skills throughout the movie. Disha Patani will also impress you with her character in the film. You will also see one of these women in action.
music
The music of the film could have been better. After watching the film, you will not remember any song other than B Praak’s ‘Kismat Badal Di’. However, the background score during the emotional scenes is placed just right and will bring tears to your eyes.
How is the movie?
Overall, Yodha is a good watch and you will love Sidharth Malhotra donning the uniform once again. He could have been better at being a lover boy in the film, but since Yodha is more about action, that tangent can definitely be ignored. As mentioned above, the film has nothing to do with any real-life events and is based on a completely fictional story, but it does not fall short of instilling a sense of patriotism in the audience. It is also filled with many twists, which keep you on the edge of your seat. I would rate it 3.5 out of five stars.
