Yodha: Siddharth Malhotra and Disha Patani’s film is full of thrill, you will not be able to take your eyes off the screen even for a moment – Dainik Savera Times

Mumbai: Sidharth Malhotra’s Arun Katyal proudly leads a special task force called Yodha, whose first commanding officer was his father. Arun, who has a reputation for not following the chain of command and acting without thinking, finds himself fighting for the survival of the task force after he fails to save the life of India’s top nuclear scientist in a flight hijacking.

Along with this, he has suffered a blow in his personal life as his wife Raashi Khanna, who is also the State Secretary, can no longer continue his indomitable exploits. A few years later, another Indian plane is hijacked. twist? Arun is the air commander on the ship and all clues point towards him and suspicion is raised.

Security forces as well as passengers believe that Arun is taking revenge for Yoddha’s suspension. An oversmart passenger, with the help of air hostess Disha Patani, tries to get Arun down to save the flight. From here, the plot continuously takes one incredible twist after another, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Warrior Review: Criticism,

Barring a somewhat clichéd beginning, Yoddha is a genre-defining film. While Indian cinema has certainly produced some of the best action-thrillers, Yodha is in a league of its own with its eccentric narrative and breakneck pace, not to mention heart-wrenching cliffhangers. The conviction of directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha makes the unusual screenplay so impressive that you find yourself reveling in the climactic climax.

Sidharth Malhotra has shown a different look with this. He has gone from being a suave love boy to a gentle, if slightly egotistical, leading man who acts like a boss. He excels in the seamless action sequences, which are the major highlights of the film. While Sid has always had an attractive presence, in Yodha he commands the screen. Raashi Khanna does well as the State Secretary, who finds herself in a difficult situation when her husband’s credibility as a soldier is questioned.

The dynamic relationships add an emotional layer to the film and Raashi does full justice to it. Disha Patani, in her brief but impactful role, really packs a punch. She is looking fabulous as always, she amazes you with her moves in the air. Outsiders can bring new perspectives to the table, providing audiences with a new experience. That’s exactly what directors Sagar Ambre (also writer) and Pushkar Ojha have done with Yoddha. The best part is the on-point execution of his script which is thrilling and not insubstantial.

Credit where credit is due – Karan Johar deserves brownie points for recognizing the storytelling talent of the dynamic duo and giving them ample scale and freedom to express themselves.
