14 people injured in attack on anti-polio team in Pakistan: Police

At least 14 people, including eight Pakistan Army soldiers and two police personnel, were injured in three separate terrorist attacks on anti-polio teams in the country’s restive northwest region. Police gave this information on Thursday.

In the first incident, unidentified terrorists opened fire on a polio vaccination team in the restive Bannu district, injuring two policemen on duty. One of the seriously injured policemen has been shifted to Peshawar hospital.

Terrorists attacked the team during a polio vaccination campaign. The operation was later postponed due to the incident. In another incident, armed men attacked security forces in Tirah Valley of Khyber Tribal District, injuring six soldiers.

Four people traveling in the van were also injured during the firing. In another incident, some unidentified terrorists opened fire on a security forces check post at Tauda Cheena in Bannu district, injuring two soldiers.
