Hingoli: Kanergaon investigation failed, Rs 15 lakh in cash seized from jeep

Hingoli, Pudhari Circle Service: Cash worth Rs 15 lakh has been seized from a jeep in Kanergaon area on Hingoli to Washim road. Those concerned about the case have been informed to remain present at the Income Tax Office in Nanded on 19th April.

The election process of Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency has started. Precautionary measures have been taken to prevent illegal transportation of liquor and cash during the selected period. For this, check points have been raised on all the routes coming to Hingoli district and check points have been raised on the roads within the district. Therefore, all the vehicles going to and from Hingoli district are being checked.

Check points have been set up at Kanergaonaka, Yeldari, Wadhona or places under the Hingoli Sub-Divisional Officer office. At these places police personnel along with customs and other department employees have been appointed on duty 24 hours. Or Shivaay is being sent to the inspection centers by Sub-Divisional Officer Umakant Pardhi, Tehsildar Navnath Wagwad.

Meanwhile, a cruiser jeep was stopped at the inspection checkpoint at Kanergaonaka around Monday night. When the officers and employees present at the place checked the jeep, cash of Rs 15 lakh was found in it. Since the person in the jeep did not give any answer regarding the amount, the amount was confiscated and kept in the treasury office. After this, Sub-Divisional Officer Pardhi, Nodal Officer Arvind Munde immediately informed the Selective Department and Income Tax Department of Nanded in this regard. After this, the Income Tax Department has informed the concerned persons to remain present at the Income Tax Office in Nanded on 19 days.
