Chinese President Xi Jinping met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Beijing on the morning of April 16.

On this occasion, Xi Jinping said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the four-way strategic partnership between China and Germany. Xi Jinping further said that the industrial and supply chains of China and Germany are deeply interconnected. The markets of both the countries are dependent on each other. Whether in traditional fields such as machinery manufacturing and automobiles, or emerging fields such as green transformation, digitalization and artificial intelligence, there is immense inherent strength in mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Germany. Both sides should strengthen cooperation.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that exchanges between Germany and China at various levels and in various fields are becoming closer. Germany wants to strengthen relations with China and increase dialogue and cooperation in various fields. It is important for Germany and China, even the whole world. Germany opposes protectionism and supports free trade. During the meeting, the two leaders had in-depth discussions on Ukraine crisis, Palestine-Israel conflict and other international and regional issues of common interest.
