Beirut (Uttam Hindu News): Israeli Warplanes on Monday attacked several targets in Lebanon’s southern city of Ghazieh with missiles, injuring 14 people. This information was given by Xinhua on Tuesday quoting Lebanese military sources. The city of Ghazih, adjacent to the southern city of Sidon in Lebanon, is about 45 kilometers from the capital Beirut. The sources said Israeli warplanes carried out four airstrikes, two of which targeted the industrial area behind Al-Rai private hospital while the other two targeted the area around a supermarket.
Sources said that in two attacks targeting the industrial area, a factory manufacturing power generators was destroyed while in another attack, a tire factory and ten nearby shops were badly damaged. According to sources, an iron and aluminum manufacturing factory was destroyed while six commercial stores were damaged in the two attacks in the vicinity of the supermarket. A shelter for Syrian workers was also damaged in the attack, in which 12 people were injured. According to Lebanese military sources, two members of the civil defense team were also injured while extinguishing the fire caused by the attack. On Monday, Israeli warplanes carried out 11 strikes on six targets in the southern Lebanon border area, destroying four houses and damaging 20 others, according to Lebanese security sources.
On the other hand, Hezbollah said that its fighters attacked several Israeli positions in the occupied Lebanese territory, including al-Samaqa, radar and Ramtha sites, causing numerous casualties. Tensions have escalated along the Lebanon-Israel border since October 08, 2023, when the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets towards Israel in support of Hamas, to which Israel responded by firing artillery into south-eastern Lebanon. According to Lebanese security sources, 302 Lebanese people have been killed in the clashes between Hezbollah and Israel, including 205 Hezbollah members and 57 civilians.
