Kadratullah, a traffic official in Helmand, said a motorcyclist collided with a passenger bus along with his vehicle. The bus then collided with a fuel tanker on the opposite side of the road. He said the accident is under investigation. Ezzatullah Haqqani, spokesman for the Helmand police chief, said 11 of the 38 injured were admitted to hospitals with serious injuries. Due to poor condition of roads and carelessness of drivers, cases of road accidents are frequent in Afghanistan.
