The celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Haishi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province is approaching. On January 25, 1954, this prefecture was established. Haishi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the west of Qinghai province in northwest China, bordering Kansu province to the north and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to the west. The prefecture is 837 kilometers long from east to west and 486 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of ​​3,25,800 square kilometers. It has rich flora and fauna resources and huge tourism potential.

Haishi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is an important site of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. In the year 2022, the total output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size in Haishi exceeded 100 billion yuan, reaching 131.3 billion yuan. At the same time, local general public budget revenue exceeded 10 billion yuan, reaching 14.19 billion yuan.

In the year 2022, the largest concentrated solar power clean energy industrial heating project in China was completed and put into operation in Haishi. Started construction of 1 million ton shale oil pilot test field of Qinghai Oilfield in Haishi. In addition, China’s first submillimeter wave astronomical observatory is located in Haishi and the world’s first near-space-based platform rocket was successfully launched in Langhu, Haishi.

For a long time, Haishi Prefecture has continued to enhance the development of green and low-carbon industries. At the same time, Haishi has made great efforts to further improve the industrial chain. With salt lake chemical industry as the core, a circular industrial system with multi-industry integrated development of oil and gas chemical industry, coal chemical industry, metallurgical industry, new material industry, new energy industry and special biological industry etc. has been formed in Haishi. Based on this, Haishi focuses on building a world-class Salt Lake industrial base. The prefecture has the production capacity of 85 lakh tons of potassium chloride, 50 lakh tons of soda ash, 1 lakh tons of magnesium metal, 1.7 lakh tons of magnesium hydroxide, 1.07 lakh tons of lithium carbonate, 10 thousand tons of lithium chloride and 1 thousand tons of lithium.

Under the guidance of the new development concept, Haishi has made every effort to build a world-class salt lake industrial base, national potassium lake industry highland, national clean energy industry highland, international eco-tourism destination and green organic agriculture and livestock products export center .
