7th pay commission: The new year has started. We have now entered the year 2024. In such a situation, if you work under the Central Government, i.e. you are a central employee, then you may get good news soon this year. This year, not only the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the employees will increase but the House Rent Allowance i.e. HRA will also be increased by the Central Government. This means that employees will get double good news this year. Meanwhile, if a question is coming in your mind that how much dearness allowance will be increased by the Central Government? So let us tell you…

How much can dearness allowance (DA) increase?

According to the news going on in the media, dearness allowance can be increased by four to five percent for the half year from January to June. If the allowance increases even by four percent, then the DA of central employees will increase to 50 percent. Let us discuss here that at present the allowance of employees is 46 percent. For the second half of the year 2023, the Modi government at the Center had increased the allowance by four percent. After this, the allowance for the July to December half year increased to 46 percent.

HRA will increase as allowance increases

HRA will be revised once the allowance of central employees reaches 50 percent or more. It is noteworthy that as per the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, when the allowance becomes 50 percent or more, then the work of revising the HRA is done.

When can the announcement be made

If we look at the pattern till now, in the month of March the government announces the increase in dearness allowance, which is effective from January to June. Whereas, if we talk about increase in allowance for the period from July to December, it is announced in the month of October. In this way, the Modi government at the Center increases the allowances of central employees twice a year on half yearly basis.
