The price of aviation fuel (ATF) was reduced by four percent on Monday. At the same time, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder for cooking has been reduced by a nominal amount of Rs 1.50 per cylinder. This is the third consecutive month when ATF prices have come down. However, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder, used in homes as cooking gas, remains at Rs 903. According to the notification of public sector retail fuel companies, the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) i.e. aircraft fuel has been reduced by Rs 4,162.5 i.e. 3.9 percent. After this cut, the price of aviation fuel in Delhi has become Rs 1,01,993.17 per kilolitre.
This is the third consecutive month that aviation fuel prices have been cut. Earlier, in November, the price of ATF was cut by about six percent (Rs 6,854.25 per kilolitre). Whereas in December it was reduced by 5,189.25 i.e. 4.6 percent. ATF accounts for about 40 percent of an airline’s operating costs. In such a situation, the reduction in aviation fuel prices will provide relief to the aviation companies facing financial pressure. With this, oil companies have reduced the price of commercially used LPG by Rs 1.50 per cylinder. This cylinder is used in hotels and restaurants.
After this deduction, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder in the national capital will be Rs 1,755.50 while in Mumbai it will be Rs 1,708.50 per cylinder. Public sector Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) revise the prices of LPG and ATF on the 1st of every month based on the average international price of the previous month. .
Petrol and diesel prices have remained record stable for the 21st consecutive month. In the national capital, petrol is priced at Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.62 per litre. Retail fuel sellers are required to revise petrol and diesel prices daily based on a 15-day rolling average of standard international fuel prices. However, this has not happened since April 6, 2022.
