Earthquake In Pakistan : An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Pakistan’s Islamabad on Sunday. The National Center for Seismology said, “An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit Islamabad, Pakistan at 1:24 pm today.” So far there is no news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was 37 km west of Islamabad and the depth was said to be 10 km.

Earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolts Islamabad
However, local media in Pakistan quoted the Pakistan Meteorological Department as saying that an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad. The report states that it occurred around 12:54 pm and was at a longitude of 69.65 East and a latitude of 38.65 North. It said that its epicenter was somewhere in Tajikistan and the depth was 150 km.

Tremors were felt in Islamabad and various parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa after a 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit the region on January 19, 2023. According to the report of The Express Tribune, the earthquake was felt in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Shabkadar, Swat, Kohat, Swabi, Lower Dir, Bannu, Charsadda and other areas. There is no report of any casualty or damage to property due to the tremors.
Strong earthquake hits parts of northern Pakistan on January 4
On 4 January, a strong earthquake struck parts of northern Pakistan, with tremors in various cities including Peshawar, Charsadda and the mountainous Swat Valley of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Earthquake tremors were also felt from Peshawar, Takht Bai, Dir Bala, Landi Kotal, Swat, Swabi, Hangu, Charsadda and surrounding areas.
