A conspiracy is being hatched from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to snatch its election symbol: Gauhar Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Gauhar Khan on Friday alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to deprive his party of its election symbol ‘cricket bat’ and this would open the door to switching sides in the new Parliament.
Addressing a press conference here, Gauhar Khan said that conspiracies were being hatched to snatch the ‘bat’ symbol from the party after the highest number of nomination papers were filed by PTI candidates.
He said, “If you take away our election symbol, will they all contest elections as independent candidates? If this happens then who will be responsible for horse-trading after the elections? ,
In Pakistan, horse-trading is generally used to change sides in Parliament. He said that the bat is not only the election symbol of his party but also a symbol of the expectations of the people.
Gauhar Khan said, “The Supreme Court has decided that snatching the election symbol is equivalent to dissolving a political party and this power rests only with the apex court under Article 17 (of the Constitution).
