New Delhi. Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) on Wednesday announced the commissioning of 551 MW solar capacity at Khavra Renewable Energy (RE) Park in Gujarat. The company plans to develop 30 GW of renewable energy capacity in this RE Park, which is expected to be operational in the next five years. Upon completion, Khavra RE Park will be the world’s largest renewable energy installation, the company said in a statement.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, “Adani is building one of the world’s most comprehensive renewable energy ecosystems for green energy, solar and wind.” Through this, AGEN continues to set high global standards and rewrite the world’s planning and execution standards for giga-scale renewable energy projects.

AGEN has an operational renewables segment of over nine GW, the largest in India and spread across 12 states, the statement said. AGEN said it commissioned 551 MW of solar capacity within 12 months of starting work on the RE Park, starting with the development of infrastructure including roads and connectivity and the creation of a self-sustaining social ecosystem.
