Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad has received international recognition for its approach towards environmental awareness education. (AVMA) School has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the prestigious Green School Award at the 7th NYC Green Schools Conference. The honor received at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York highlights India’s dedication towards sustainable education and proactive stance covering environmental issues.
Adani Vidyamandir (AVMA) has launched several initiatives to reduce education costs. This has brought significant benefits to students and their families. These measures enable families to save which can later be used for higher education or career building. Ultimately this promotes significant positive change in communities.
AVMA emphasizes biodiversity through integrated plantation activities in its study sequence. It goes beyond the traditional academic approach and inculcates in students a deeper understanding of their responsibilities towards the earth.
The vibrant eco-clubs and programs honored at the NYC Green School conference include educating students on tree planting, waste management, environmental awareness, sustainable technologies, climate change and ecological conservation, eco clubs, FSCI accreditation and food safety committee, etc.
The school transforms its campus into an eco-friendly oasis by incorporating solar energy, rainwater harvesting and waste management. AVMA uses rainwater harvesting and efficient waste management to conserve water and reduce landfill impact and preserve green gardens and biodiversity.
AVMA actively contributes to global efforts and global partnerships to advance Percent’s sustainable future. It has partnerships with UNICEF on various topics. The collaboration aims to facilitate exchange of best practices, knowledge sharing and collective efforts to tackle global environmental challenges.
AVMA is the only private school in Gujarat to collaborate with UNICEF and the first private school in Ahmedabad city to be accredited by NABET under the Quality Council of India. The school has collaborated with UNICEF by participating in the Climate Action Summit 2023.
Two students of Adani Vidyamandir Ahmedabad, Alvina Roy and Geetanshu Chavda (GradX) have received full scholarships for AFS intercultural exchange programs in Brazil and China. Adani Foundation has entered into an agreement with NIE International (part of NTU, Singapore) under the aegis of Temasek Foundation (Singapore) to launch a comprehensive STEM Leadership Programme.
