New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News) – Two days later, it is 30th September and this is the last date for depositing Rs 2,000 notes. There is no clarity from RBI about what will happen to Rs 2,000 notes after September 30, 2023. The special thing is that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not withdrawn the legal tender status of the Rs 2000 note. This means that even after the deadline, the Rs 2,000 note will remain legal currency. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes on 19 May 2023.
According to RBI, till now Rs 3.56 trillion (2 thousand rupee notes) have been deposited in the bank. However, 7% note is still in circulation. RBI said that most of the Rs 2,000 notes are not in use. Therefore, after September 30, they will no longer be in use. You can deposit two thousand rupee note in your bank account. Along with this, you can get it changed by going to any bank. Note exchange facility is being provided in all the banks and RBI of the country. You may also need to fill KYC form to exchange Rs 2000 note.
