Ahmedabad: Gujarati actor Malhar Thakar will be present to give the ‘green signal’ to the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon. Loktej Business, Ahmedabad News

The seventh edition of the most eagerly awaited Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is scheduled to be held on 26th November. The marathon, organized by the Adani Group, will be flagged off by Gujarati actor Malhar Thakar, who is also a poet. Malhar, 33, has been one of the most recognizable faces of the Gujarati film industry for over a decade.

Malhar will be accompanied on the race day to flag off the marathon by legendary former Indian cricketer Mithali Raj, who has been one of the fittest athletes in her career spanning over two decades. Categories of participants in the Adani #Run4ourSoldiers Full Marathon ( 42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 10 km race and 5 km race.

Recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), marathon veteran Dev Cundy, AIMS Vice President and Technical Director, will join as Race Director. The marathon, which is a celebration of running, gives everyone a chance to win medals and also donate money for the welfare of the armed forces. United Way India has sincerely partnered in facilitating these efforts.

The rapid increase in marathon registrations every year not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also paves the way for improving the lives of many people. Marathon participant; One can choose to support causes like armed forces welfare, healthcare, education, livelihoods, environment, sustainability, disaster relief and rehabilitation, diversity, equality, inclusion and capacity building of NGOs. Runners can raise funds by choosing charity bibs. May involve fundraising, which allocates a portion of the proceeds to chosen causes.

Malhar Thakar said, “Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is one of the most important sporting events for the people of Gujarat and India and I am happy to be associated with it for the 7th year.
