Two ATC officers suspended
Citing CAAN spokesperson Jagannath Niroula, the report said that the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken action on this. Two senior officers of the Air Traffic Control Department have been suspended for this negligence. Niraula was quoted as saying that the Air India plane was descending from an altitude of 19,000 feet. While the Nepal Airlines aircraft was flying at an altitude of 15,000 feet at the same location. According to the spokesperson, it was seen on the radar that both the aircraft were close in the air, then the Nepal Airlines aircraft came down to 7,000 feet.
Committee constituted to investigate
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has constituted a three-member committee to probe the matter. Also, two officers have been suspended. Both these officers were in charge of the control room at the time of the incident.
