New Delhi, 20 December (Hindustan Reporter). Airline company Air India Express will fly its inaugural flight from the country’s capital New Delhi to Ayodhya on December 30. Daily scheduled services of the airline on this route will start from January 16.
The company said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the inaugural flight of Air India Express IX 2789 will depart from the capital New Delhi on December 30 at 11.00 am, which will land at Ayodhya’s Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport at 12.20 pm. After this, flight IX 1769 from Ayodhya airport will depart for New Delhi at 12.50 pm, which will reach at 14.10 pm.
The airline’s managing director (MD) Alok Singh said Air India Express is excited to start operations from Ayodhya. This is in line with our commitment to increase connectivity with tier II and III cities across the country. Air India Express is India’s first budget airline, a subsidiary of Air India. It operates more than 300 flights daily. It has a fleet of 59 aircraft.
Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh has an extended runway, suitable for operation of A-321/B-737 type aircraft. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had recently said in a program that Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya will be ready by the end of this month, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
