Lucknow : You are 18 years of age or older. If your Aadhar card has not been made yet, then this news is of great use for you. The Uttar Pradesh government has made some changes in the rules for making Aadhar card. Now Aadhaar will be generated for residents above 18 years of age only after verification. Now after the permission of the state government, nodal officers have been nominated at the district level and sub-division level for making Aadhar cards of adults. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) has been nominated at the district level and SDM at the sub-division level. Aadhaar card for people above 18 years of age can be made only after verification by ADM and SDM. Now you will have to go through the verification process like a passport. For such people, the facility of Aadhaar enrollment will be available only at some selected Aadhaar centres, which mainly include the main post office, sub post office and Aadhaar Seva Kendra run by the authority in each district. Their number in UP is 1136. After Aadhaar enrollment at these centres, the information will be sent to the authority where after data quality check, this application will be sent to the Service Plus portal for verification.
Aadhaar will be generated within 180 days after verification
The SDM will get the applications submitted on the service portal verified at his level. Physical verification of all the documents submitted will be done. If everything is found correct then permission will be given to issue Aadhaar. After this, Aadhaar will be generated within 180 days. If the information is doubtful then the nodal officer will reject it. Deputy Director General Prashant Kumar Singh clarified that these guidelines are for those residents above 18 years of age who are getting their Aadhaar made for the first time.
Aadhaar enrollment facility on 10,408 machines
Once Aadhaar is generated, they can also get their Aadhaar updated under the normal process, no verification will be required. All such residents whose Aadhaar is already made can easily get their Aadhaar corrected and updated. Such people will not have to go through this new system. At present, Aadhaar enrollment and update work is being done through 14,095 Aadhaar enrollment and update machines in Uttar Pradesh, out of which Aadhaar enrollment facility is available on about 10,408 machines.
