In Pakistan, there is a lot of discussion about this map of unbroken India installed in the new Parliament of India. But another neighboring country Nepal is also worried about this.

Ruckus on unbroken India in Nepal

The new map installed in the Parliament House reflects the concept of ‘Akhand Bharat’. That is, Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is shown among places of cultural and religious importance that exist outside the boundaries of modern India. This has intensified the protests in Nepal. Nepal’s former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said in a statement that the map has the potential to further exacerbate the trust deficit that has already plagued bilateral relations between most of India’s closest neighbours. At the same time, former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who followed the instructions of China, even demanded the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda to take up this issue with the Indian leadership on his visit to India.

Pakistan also expressed concern

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has also opposed the map. We are shocked by the statements of some BJP leaders including a Union Minister linking with ‘Akhand Bharat’. Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the unnecessary claim of ‘Akhand Bharat’ is a manifestation of a revisionist and expansionist mindset that seeks to subjugate the identity and culture of not only India’s neighboring countries but also its own religious minorities . The spokesperson of the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, while giving unsolicited advice, said that Indian leaders should not indulge in rhetoric against other countries.
