Almost all oil-oilseeds prices firm except Groundnut

New Delhi. Except for groundnut, the prices of almost all oil-oilseeds closed strong in the capital market on Thursday. Due to this, improvement was recorded in the prices of mustard and soyabean oil-oilseeds, crude palm oil (CPO) and palmolein oil and cottonseed oil. There is a strong trend in Malaysia and Chicago Exchange. There has been strength in both these places since last three trading sessions. Market sources said that with the festive season approaching, there is festive demand in the mandis. On the one hand, due to cheap imported oils, farmers have not taken out the country’s mustard stock and its prices are also high. Some farmers have sold a little bit of mustard when needed. Mustard oil and oilseeds improved due to festive demand for mustard.

Due to the cheapest wholesale price, the all-round demand for sunflower has increased before the festive season. This increase in demand for sunflower oil is especially high in places like Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh. The prices of mustard oil sit high. Groundnut and cottonseed are almost over. In such a situation, the festive demand can be met only with sunflower and soybean oil. But Ukraine’s non-renewal of the traffic route agreement with Russia could hamper sunflower oil imports. Therefore, it is important to know about the import of ‘soft oil’ (soft oil-sunflower, soybean) and the figure of shipments of these oils abroad.

Along with oil organizations, if needed, the government can also take this information from its side and monitor the situation so that there is no shortage of soft oils on the occasion of festivals. Palm palmolein oil is not widely used in common households, so there is no special meaning of increasing or decreasing its import. Sources said the government should also monitor the sale of imported oil at ports below cost as it is ultimately the money of the banks or the general public. The import cost of imported sunflower works out to Rs 90-91 a kg and it is being sold at the ports at a wholesale price of Rs 90-91 a kg. Common consumers are getting this oil at the rate of Rs 140-145 per liter (910 grams) in the retail market. Sources said that oils like palm palmolein can be imported in 10-15 days, but it takes two to two and a half months to import soft oils and then unload the goods from the ships. Therefore, special attention has to be paid to ensure that the supply chain of soft oils does not break. The prices of oil-oilseeds on Thursday were as follows: Mustard oilseeds – Rs.5,710-5,760 (42 percent condition rate) per quintal. Groundnut – Rs.7,865-7,915 per quintal. Groundnut oil mill delivery (Gujarat) – Rs 18,850 per quintal. Groundnut refined oil Rs 2,735-3,020 per tin.

Mustard oil Dadri – Rs 10,850 per quintal. Mustard Pakki Ghani – Rs 1,795 – 1,890 per tin. Mustard Kachhi Ghani – Rs 1,795 -1,905 per tin. Sesame oil mill delivery – Rs 18,900-21,000 per quintal. Soybean oil mill delivery Delhi – Rs 10,450 per quintal. Soybean Mill Delivery Indore – Rs 10,250 per quintal. Soybean oil Degem, Kandla – Rs 8,700 per quintal. CPO X-Kandla – Rs 8,225 per quintal. Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) – Rs 9,325 per quintal. Palmolin RBD, Delhi – Rs 9,450 per quintal. Palmolin X- Kandla – Rs 8,525 (without GST) per quintal. Soybean grain – Rs 5,090-5,185 per quintal. Soybean loose – Rs 4,855-4,950 per quintal. Maize Khal (Sariska) – Rs 4,015 per quintal.
