New Delhi: Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd has acquired the TV and digital media rights of BCCI for the next five years for Rs 5,963 crore. Viacom18 won the rights by beating Sony Sports Network and Disney Star in the e-auction conducted by the BCCI on Thursday. He has bought these rights for the next five years. The deal covers 88 international matches, with Viacom18 estimated to pay BCCI Rs 67.75 crore per match, which is 12.91% higher than the Rs 60 crore paid by Disney Star in the 2018-23 cycle.

Viacom18, a joint venture between Reliance Industries-owned Network18 Group and Paramount Global, has taken over the bilateral media rights of BCCI from Disney Star, which had won the television and digital rights for the 2018-23 cycle for Rs 6138 crore. Disney Star also won the rights for the 2012-18 cycle of Indian cricket telecast in the country for Rs 3851 crore.
