New Delhi, 31 August (Hindustan Times). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch the ‘My Bill-My Right’ scheme from Gurugram on September 1. This scheme, which will promote the circulation of the GST bill of the government, will be launched in six states and union territories. Under this scheme, consumers can win cash prizes ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 crore by uploading bills on the mobile app.
This initiative launched by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) will first be launched in six states and union territories of Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Puducherry, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Sitharaman will launch the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ incentive scheme at an event in Sector 15 of Gurugram.
According to CBIC, the objective of bringing ‘My Bill Mera Adhikar’ scheme is to motivate the consumer to ask for the bill every time he makes a purchase. Under this scheme, the consumer will get a chance to win cash prizes ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 crore. The prizes will be given through monthly and quarterly draws. This scheme has been started on an experimental basis for 12 months from September 1. Under this, the government will distribute two bumper prizes every quarter, which will be of one crore rupees each.
