New Delhi, 27 September (HS). After joining the G-20 bloc, African countries are taking interest in Indian systems of traditional medicine and integrated health care. In this context, a 15-member delegation of High Commissioners and Ambassadors of East and Southern African countries visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on Tuesday. The delegation learned about the cutting-edge science in the field of Ayurveda and integrated health care and the role of AIIA. During this, he learned first-hand about the progress made in primary and core health care, supportive medicine etc. through AIIA Hospital, OPD, and Ayurveda.

In his video message on the occasion, Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, welcoming the African delegation, said that this visit will help in achieving the objective of universal health coverage in African countries through the potential of India’s traditional medical systems. Will help. Sarbananda Sonowal said that traditional medicine has always played an important role in meeting global health care needs. The World Health Organization also recognizes its potential. Integrating traditional medicine into mainstream health care will benefit millions of people around the world. This will be an important step towards a people-centric and holistic approach to health and well-being.

Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director, AIIA, briefed the group about the key achievements of AIIA and said, “AIIA is making every possible effort to take Ayurveda to the global community and has partnered with more than 50 organizations, prestigious institutions and universities. The MoU has been signed for research, 17 of which are of international repute.Puneet R Kundal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, along with other senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, Pramod Kumar Pathak, Principal Advisor, Ministry of AYUSH were also present.

It is notable that AIIA was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister and since then AIIA, being an apex institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, has become a center of excellence exemplifying the synergy between traditional knowledge of Ayurveda and modern clinical equipment and technology. . AIIA is the first NAAC accredited Ayurveda institute across India, and is a NABH accredited state-of-the-art, unique hospital providing holistic and integrated healthcare services. Integrated AYUSH OPD, 30 general and super specialty OPDs, integrated rheumatology, dentistry, oncology OPD etc. play a key role in providing services.
