Anju, an Indian woman who had come to a remote village in Pakistan to meet her male friend made through Facebook, will return home on August 20 after her visa expires. Nasrullah (29) said he has no plans to marry 34-year-old Anju. Anju was born in Kailor village of Uttar Pradesh and lived in Alwar, Rajasthan. Nasrullah and Anju befriended in 2019 through Facebook. Speaking to PTI over phone from Kulsho village, about 300 km from Peshawar, Nasrullah said, “Anju has come to Pakistan and we have no plans to get married.” She will return to her country after her visa expires on August 20. Anju stays in my house in another room with other women in the family.

Anju has come to meet Nasrullah in Upper Dir tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on a valid visa. According to an official document sent by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry to the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi, it has been decided to grant Anju a 30-day visa only for Upper Dir district. Nasrullah is a science graduate from Sheringal-based University and is the youngest of five brothers. He said in an affidavit to the local authorities that there was no love angle in their friendship and that Anju would return to India on August 20. According to the affidavit, she will not even move out of Upper Dir district. District Police Officer Mushtaq Khan said, “As per the visa documents, she will return on August 20.” Nasrullah denies any love angle in his friendship with Anju but police officer Khan says she has come to Pakistan ‘because of love’.

“Anju has come to Pakistan from New Delhi for love and is living here happily,” Geo News quoted Khan as saying. “She has come to Pakistan on a one-month visa and all her travel documents are valid and complete,” he said. The local people are giving gifts to Anju and she is living happily.” The district police officer also said that Anju does not want to interact with the local media or give interviews. According to reports, Anju told local reporters that she befriended Nasrullah through Facebook and it turned into a “love affair”. Anju told that she has come to Pakistan inspired by her love for Nasrullah. Nasrullah said the district administration has provided adequate security to them and Anju is safe with her family. The people of the Pashtun-dominated village want Anju to return safely to India as they do not want the incident to bring disrepute to their community. Anju’s husband Arvind living in Rajasthan has expressed hope that his wife will return soon. Anju has a 15 year old daughter and a six year old son.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Police, 30-year-old Seema is living with 22-year-old Sachin Meena in Rabupura area of ​​Greater Noida, near Delhi, where Sachin works at a grocery shop. Anju’s husband Arvind told reporters in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi that his wife had left home on Thursday saying she was going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan. Bhiwadi Superintendent of Police Sujit Shankar told PTI, “Anju’s husband told that she left home on Thursday and has a valid passport.” Arvind told the media that his wife Anju told her sister that he was in Lahore and later they spoke to her over a WhatsApp call.He said that he will talk to her and ask her to come. He hoped that Anju would return home soon. Arvind told that Anju’s passport was made in 2020 because she wanted to apply for a job abroad. He told that he was not aware that he was in contact with anyone through social media.
