Announcement of India-Middle East-Europe connectivity corridor, PM Modi said – basic foundation of connectivity and infrastructure development

In a significant development, an understanding has been initiated to develop the India-Middle East Europe Connectivity Corridor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confirmed the development during a briefing with US President Joe Biden. This will be a historic and first of its kind initiative on cooperation on connectivity and infrastructure involving India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, European Union, France, Italy, Germany and the United States of America. This may increase China’s tension. During this, the Prime Minister said that today we all have seen an important and historic agreement being concluded. In the coming times, it will be an effective medium of economic integration between India, West Asia and Europe. It will provide a sustainable direction to connectivity and development across the globe.

Modi said that strong connectivity and infrastructure are the basic foundation of development of human civilization. India has given top priority to this subject in its development journey. US President Joe Biden said on this occasion that this is a big agreement. I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One Earth, One Family, One Future is the focus of the G-20 summit. And in many ways that’s also the focus of this partnership that we’re talking about today. Building sustainable, position-setting infrastructure, investing in quality infrastructure and building a better future. Today I want to highlight key ways the United States and our partners are working to make this a reality.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that we look forward to the integration of the announcements and initiatives regarding the economic project in this meeting. I would like to thank those who worked with us to reach this foundational step in establishing this important economic corridor. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said more large-scale projects were coming to light. We are presenting two of them today. First India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. This will be the most direct connection ever between India, the Arabian Gulf and Europe. This is also the spirit of the second project we announced today, the Trans African Corridor.
