Another Indian-origin joins US presidential race, young businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will also compete with Trump

Vivek Goswami of Indian origin has now announced his candidacy for the post of US President. Indian-American tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has launched his 2024 presidential bid with a promise to “bring back meritocracy” and end dependence on China. After Nikki Haley, she became the second community member to enter the Republican presidential primary.

37-year-old Ramaswamy’s parents had migrated to the United States from Kerala and worked at a General Electric plant in Ohio. He is the second Indian-American to enter the Republican presidential primary. Earlier this month, Haley, a former two-term governor of South Carolina and former US ambassador to the United Nations, announced her presidential campaign. She announced that she would run for the Republican Party nomination against her former boss and former US President Donald Trump.

In an interview with Fox News, Ramaswamy said that America is facing external threats like China. It has become our top foreign policy threat that we have to respond to. This will require some sacrifice. This would require a declaration of independence and complete secession from China. And it won’t be easy.
