New Delhi: Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will inaugurate Indus Appstore, the first Android-based made-in-India app store, on February 21. PhonePe, a leader in fintech and digital payments, gave this information on Friday. As a minister who is a staunch supporter of self-reliant India, Vaishnav will witness for the first time the huge leap taken towards self-reliance by the unprecedented app store. The company said in a statement, ‘On the occasion of this milestone launch, in the first effort of its kind globally, the Indian startup ecosystem will come together to challenge the technology, commercial and distribution monopoly of global giants and to transform the Android app marketplace. The launch of Indus Appstore will feature apps from over 300 members of the startup and developer communities powered by the app marketplace.
