Under Operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’, RPF conducted a campaign regarding missing children and played an important role in reuniting more than 549 children with their families. These children were separated from their families due to various reasons and RPF ensured their safe return home.
At the same time, RPF took alert and prompt action under ‘Operation Jeevan Raksha’ and saved the lives of 233 passengers, who accidentally fell on the platform and railway track while alighting or boarding from moving trains and narrowly escaped getting trapped under the wheels. Were. RPF’s initiative ‘Meri Saheli’ was launched to empower and protect women passengers. Under this, in the month of January, 229 teams of ‘Meri Saheli’ traveled in 13,615 trains and gave security assurance to 4.1 lakh women passengers across the country.
The RPF also took legal action against 7,402 persons found traveling in coaches reserved for women passengers. Under RPF’s Operation ‘Upadlabh’, which was launched to crack down on brokers, 379 persons were arrested in January and action was taken against them as per law. Along with this, reserved railway tickets worth Rs 44.46 lakh were seized from all these brokers.
RPF has launched Operation ‘Narcos’ against people who deal in drug addiction and rob people. Under which 76 persons were arrested and narcotics seized, worth Rs 4.13 crore. RPF has integrated the Rail Madad portal and helpline number 139 and emergency assistance number 112 to provide prompt resolution of security related passenger complaints. In the month of January, more than 19,738 complaints were received under it which efforts were made to resolve.
Under Operation ‘Passenger Security’, RPF in order to prevent and detect crimes against railway passengers arrested 225 criminals, and handed them over to the concerned GRP/Police for further legal action. Under ‘Operation Sanrakshan’ to maintain the safety of railway passengers and security of railway services, the RPF arrested 53 persons involved in acts like stone pelting on running trains in January.
RPF runs ‘Operation Seva’ to provide assistance to the needy, in which 227 elderly, sick or injured passengers were provided assistance during rail travel in the month of January. At the same time, under ‘Operation Vigilant’ to curb the transportation of illegal goods, Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized illegal tobacco products and illegal liquor. 86 persons were arrested and Rs 30.15 lakh recovered. Apart from this, cash worth Rs 1.53 crore, gold worth Rs 37.18 lakh and silver worth Rs 11.67 lakh were also recovered.
