The American space agency NASA has even made a plan to fulfill this ambition of the people, under which a crew will be sent to the Moon in 2025 and astronauts to Mars in the next decade. If seen, commercial flights to space are now becoming regular. But as space travel becomes more common, so does the possibility that someone might die along the way. Therefore a question arises in the mind that if someone dies in space then what will happen to his body?

A reading of science-based reports suggests that if someone dies on a low-Earth-orbit mission such as on the International Space Station, the crew can bring the body back to Earth in a capsule within a few hours. If someone dies on the Moon, the space crew can return to Earth with the body within a few days. Let us tell you that NASA already has detailed protocols for such situations. According to this protocol, the preservation of the body after someone’s death in space is not a priority for NASA, but its first concern will be how the rest of the crew return safely to Earth. Also, if an astronaut dies during the 300 million mile journey to Mars, the situation will change completely. That is, if someone has died on Mars, then in that case the crew will not be able to go back immediately. Only after the mission is over for a few years, the crew can return to Earth with the dead astronaut’s body. If someone dies on Mars, in that case the crew will preserve the body in a special body bag and preserve it in a separate chamber. Since there is a constant temperature and humidity inside the spacecraft, the dead person’s body will be preserved. But astronauts also believe that all these scenarios are applicable only if someone died in a pressurized environment like a space station or spacecraft.

Apart from this, the question also arises that what would happen if a person steps into space without wearing a spacesuit? The simple and obvious answer is that the astronaut would die almost immediately. This is because the reduced air pressure and exposure to the vacuum of space would make it impossible for an astronaut to breathe and the blood and other body fluids would start to boil, which is difficult for anyone to tolerate.

A question also arises that what will happen if an astronaut goes to the Moon or Mars without a spacesuit? Astronomers’ answer to this scenario is that since there is almost no atmosphere on the Moon, there is very little of what is there, and Mars also has almost no oxygen, so astronauts can travel without spacesuits. Going to the Moon or Mars will result in a feeling of suffocation and a brutal feeling of blood boiling in the body, which cannot be tolerated for long.

A question also arises that if someone dies in space, he cannot be buried there? Astronomers answer that it is too expensive to do because it requires a lot of energy. The power or energy required by the space crew and the space station for its every purpose, if it is used to bury or burn the dead person’s body, then this precious energy will have to be spent. Apart from this, space scientists also believe that it is not a good idea to bury someone in space. In fact, bacteria and other organisms from the body can contaminate the surface of Mars.

However, despite the great progress of science, there is no doubt that sending humans into space is an extraordinarily difficult and dangerous task. But the nature of human is that of a creature that never gives up, so it keeps on trying. The urge to know the secrets hidden in every corner of the universe and the greed to convert those secrets into profit provided many opportunities to man to invent. As far as sending humans into space is concerned, looking at the history, it is known that efforts for this started 60 years ago and 20 people have died in the efforts made so far. Let us remind you that 14 astronauts died in the NASA space shuttle tragedy between 1986 and 2003, three astronauts died during the Soyuz 11 mission of 1971, and three astronauts died in an Apollo launch pad fire in 1967. Death had happened.
