Madaripur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Masood Alam said that the injured have been admitted to different hospitals. According to Alam, it is believed that the accident happened due to negligent driving and mechanical fault in the bus.

At the same time, Shiplu Ahmed, deputy assistant director of the fire department, said, “It is believed that the wheel of the speeding bus burst and its driver lost control at Vapan, due to which the bus fell into the ditch.” Fire Service Officer Lima Khanum said that three units of fire service are engaged in relief and rescue work at the spot. He said that the identity of the dead and injured is yet to be ascertained. At the same time, Shonadanga bus station officer Mohammad Sabuj Khan told that there were more than 43 passengers in the bus.
