Ban on parties, control on media, Ramaswami lashed out at Zelensky, calling him Nazi

Indian-American Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Wednesday courted controversy by calling Ukrainian President Zelensky a Nazi and a comedian in cargo pants during the third presidential debate in Miami. Ramaswamy’s comments came when he was asked whether he supported additional funding for Ukraine as requested by US President Joe Biden. Ramaswami further claimed that a large number of Republicans have begun to follow his lead in opposing US involvement in the matter.

Ukraine is not a symbol of democracy. This is the country which has banned 11 opposition parties. It has consolidated all media into one state TV media arm. This is not democratic. It has threatened that unless America gives more money, elections will not be held this year, it is not democratic. It has celebrated in its ranks a Nazi, a comedian in cargo pants, a man named Zelensky. Ramaswami further said that the areas of Ukraine which are currently occupied by Russia include Donbass-Luhansk and Donetsk. These are Russian-speaking regions that are not even part of Ukraine since 2014.
