Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid will write his biography after retirement

Dhaka : Bangladesh’s President Abdul Hamid has expressed his desire to write works especially his biography after his retirement. Hamid is leaving the Banga Bhavan (President’s House) in April after completing two consecutive terms as the President. His term will end on April 23. The next (22nd) President of the country has been elected. The new President is scheduled to take office on April 24. The Chief Election Commission of Bangladesh has announced the name of the 22nd President of the country. The Commission has said that former judge and freedom fighter Mohammad Shahabuddin Chuppu will be the new President of Bangladesh. He was elected unopposed on Monday. He will replace the current President Mohammad Abdul Hamid.

In his long political career of 64 years, Abdul Hameed had good relations with many journalists. So, before leaving, he invited some of them to the Banga Bhavan on Sunday. He talked to her about various memories and told her about his retirement plans. At this time the outgoing President expressed his desire to spend his retirement life by writing. Hameed said he would leave the Bangabhavan and then go to Nikunja’s residence in the capital. Occasionally he would also visit his birthplace, Mithmoine. And spend free time writing.

Prior to this, the gathering of invited journalists had started in the Durbar Hall of Bangabhavan from Sunday evening itself. The outgoing President reached there around 7.30 pm. During this he interacted with the invited journalists. Defying protocol, he shook hands with journalists and posed for photographs with everyone smiling. In his speech, Hamid mentioned his good relations with journalists. He said, “I have got a lot of support from journalists in my long political career. I have done politics honestly all my life. In my 64 years of life, I have not received anything negative from journalists, I am grateful to them.

He said, “I have always had good relations with journalists. I had very good relations with you, especially when I was the deputy speaker and till I took over as speaker. Hamid also said, “After 42 days I will return to the people. I feel good that I am able to leave with dignity. I am grateful to all.” At this point, the President invited journalists to visit his residence in Hora area and Nikunja in Dhaka.
