Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that bilateral relations between India and Australia are being nurtured by the rapidly growing Indian diaspora which is acting as a living bridge between the two countries. In an interview to The Australian newspaper, PM Modi said that people-to-people contact is a strong pillar of the partnership between the two countries. The Prime Minister said, he wants to take India’s relations with Australia to the next level.
He said the close defense and security ties between the two countries would help ensure an open and free Indo-Pacific. PM Modi said that he is not a person who is easily satisfied and he has seen that Prime Minister Albanese is the same. She expressed confidence that when she and Mr Albanese are together again in Sydney, they will have the opportunity to explore how they can take the relationship to the next level. Mr Modi said they would identify new areas of complementarities and expand cooperation.
