Bhutan’s Prime Minister, who came to India on PM Modi’s invitation, welcomed Ashwini Choubey.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed its first supplementary chargesheet in the Pune ISIS arms and explosives seizure case, naming four more accused and adding charges against one. With this, a charge sheet has been filed by the NIA against a total of 11 accused in the July 2023 case related to the seizure of weapons, explosives, chemicals and ISIS-related literature.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay arrived in the national capital on a five-day official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the first foreign visit of the Bhutanese PM, who will take office in January 2024. Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Ashwini Choubey welcomed him at the airport. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, who welcomed the Bhutanese PM, said his visit is a testament to the friendly relations between the two countries.

Jaiswal said in a post on X that a hearty welcome to India! Bhutan’s Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay arrived in New Delhi on his first foreign visit after assuming office in January 2024. Minister of State Ashwani Choubey welcomed him at the airport. The visit of the Prime Minister of Bhutan is in keeping with the exemplary relations of friendship between the two countries. The Prime Minister of Bhutan is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment and senior officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan.

During his visit to India, Tobgay will meet President Draupadi Murmu and is expected to hold bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other Indian dignitaries will also meet the Bhutanese Prime Minister. Tobgay also plans to visit Mumbai. The visit of the Prime Minister of Bhutan will provide an opportunity to both sides to review progress in their unique partnership and discuss ways and means of expanding the enduring ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
