According to local news reports, police say that the explosive material was kept in a shopping bag near the wall of the Election Commission of Pakistan in the Red Zone area of ​​Karachi. The police have not found any kind of ball bearing in this explosive material during the investigation so far. After this incident, the bomb disposal squad has also issued a report saying that the blast was caused by a country-made bomb. 400 grams of explosive was planted in the bomb. A timing device and 12 volt battery were used to carry out the blast, which is also mentioned in the report.

According to the report, the detonator of the blast and about 400 grams of explosives were blown up with the blast. The homemade bomb was kept in a light container. There has been no news of any casualties in this explosion outside the Pakistan Election Commission. After the bomb blast incident, the Election Commission has taken immediate cognizance of the bomb blast. A report on this incident has been sought from Senior Superintendent of Police South and District Surveillance Officer. The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed both the officials to submit the report immediately.
