Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was granted bail by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday in 12 cases related to the May 9 attacks on military installations. According to details, ATC Judge Malik Ijaz Asif granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party founder Khan after furnishing a bail bond of Rs 0.1 million in all 12 cases, including the General Headquarters (Pakistan Army) and Army Museum attacks. Gave bail. Pakistan informed.
The court said there was no justification for keeping 71-year-old Khan under arrest as all the accused in the May 9 case were on bail. Khan will remain in jail as he has been convicted in several other cases. The court order came a day after independent candidates backed by Khan’s party won nearly 100 seats in the National Assembly.
In the same case, former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has also been granted bail in 13 cases. Khan and PTI veteran Qureshi were convicted in the cases on February 6. Both were produced in the court, where the former prime minister informed the judge that they were illegally arrested from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) premises on May 9.
