In the third session of Bihar Business Connect 2023, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Information and Public Relations cum Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha and officials of the Industry Department have appealed to investors to invest in Bihar. Everyone has said in their respective addresses that there is a favorable investment environment in Bihar. The state government is providing all possible help to investors. On this, investors from India and abroad have praised such an event and expressed their desire to invest in Bihar. During this period, four companies have signed MoUs worth about Rs 900 crore with the state government.
Everything needed for industry is now available in Bihar.
In this function, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav said that the basic requirements for setting up an industry include transportation, energy and water. Bihar is rich in all three areas. It was during the tenure of Nitish Kumar, when he was a minister in the Vajpayee government, that the East-West Corridor was built, which passes through Bihar for a length of about 400 km. Roads pass through South Bihar under the Golden Corridor. There are seven rivers originating from the Himalayas, from which there is no shortage of water. In the energy sector, the electricity demand of about 7200 MW was met this year. It will expand further also. Manpower is available here. MS Swaminathan had said that there are three crops in a year in Eastern India. The next agricultural revolution will take place in Eastern India. There is abundance of bamboo, corn and makhana here. Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav pointed towards the incidents of crime and said that some incidents happen in America also.
There was no infrastructure for investment about 10-15 years ago.
Information and Public Relations cum Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha said that there was no basic facility for investment in Bihar about 10-15 years ago. Now all the necessary basic facilities are available here. The road network has expanded by more than 130 percent compared to that period. Electricity is available. The growth rate here is continuously in double digits. About 53 percent of the youth here are below 35 years of age. The industrial policy of the state government is better, due to which investors are getting all possible help. There has been a revolution in the agricultural sector here. Before the airport was built in a place like Darbhanga, it was considered who would travel from there. Today there is a fight for tickets there too. Bihar has a big market as Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan are nearby. In such a situation, Bihar is completely ready for investors.
ACS gave presentation
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Industries Department, Sandeep Poundrick, through a presentation in this program, gave information about all the basic facilities available for investment in Bihar. He told that the industrial land bank here is about three thousand acres. Plug and play facility is available at the rate of four to eight rupees per square feet per month. It is available in Muzaffarpur, Bihta, Rohtas, Bettiah and other places. Here multi model logistics park is available in Fatuha and Dobhi of Gaya. The growth rate of Bihar was 10.9 percent in 2022-23. The state government spent about Rs 2,000 crore in the last one year for basic facilities. This program was started by Industries Director Pankaj Dixit. Investors also addressed this.
They signed an MoU
Four companies signed MoU with the state government. In this, the project cost of Nilius Pre Coated Steel System was Rs 600 crore. The project cost of Hyda Group Indus Farmers Company Limited was Rs 100 crore. The project cost of Bravo Pharma was Rs 100 crore. Also, the project cost of Pinex Steel was Rs 100 crore.
