Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to formally inaugurate Surat Diamond Burse, the world’s largest business building built in Surat, on Sunday 17th December. Earlier, PSP company, which manufactures diamond burs, had filed a case in the sessions court against the Surat Diamond Burs Committee regarding dues of Rs 538 crore. The hearing was to be held on Saturday 16th December, but before that the case has taken a new turn. The Burse Committee has obtained a stay from the High Court.
Surat Diamond Bourse Committee has brought a stay order from the Gujarat High Court in the lawsuit filed by PSP Company against Surat Diamond Bourse. For now, a ban is enough in this matter. After getting the stay, Surat Diamond Burse Construction Committee Chairman Lalji Patel has posted a video statement on social media.
He has said in his statement that some time ago PSP company had filed a case against SDB. But we were confident that the court would listen to our side and give us justice. Today the High Court has given stay. There will be a ban till the next date 27th December. Then we will have to present our evidence. Neither the Surat Diamond Bourse Committee nor the diamond traders need to worry. We will not deduct or give a single rupee to anyone wrongly. Over 4200 diamond dealers across the country trust us. Nothing to worry about.
