Body of Indian national recovered from building debris in Singapore

Singapore The body of a 20-year-old Indian national was recovered from the rubble of a building in Singapore’s Central Business District eight hours after it collapsed. An official gave this information on Friday. The official said that an Indian worker working for ‘One Sun Demolition and Engineering’ was buried under the debris during the demolition of a part of the Fuji Xerox Towers building on Thursday in Tanjong Pagar. , whose body was pulled out of the rubble. The worker has not been identified and his body was recovered late Thursday night by rescue workers after a six-hour search and rescue operation, buried two meters under the debris.

It added that rescue workers broke the concrete slab and removed the debris. It has been said in the news that the concrete slab was about 50 tonnes, due to which it was very difficult to remove the debris. In a statement, the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said, “A personnel was reported missing and after an intensive search operation, he was found buried under the rubble at around 6 pm.” The worker was not breathing and his pulse was stopped. ”The body could be pulled out from the debris at around 9.45 pm and the medical personnel present at the spot declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, in another report, the newspaper has identified the deceased as Vinod, a resident of Tamil Nadu. Raja Manickam, a relative of Vinod who lives in Singapore, said, “I can only cry. this is so sad. That was my family. He grew up in my house and I took care of him.” Vinod came to Singapore in September 2022 after completing his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a college in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
