Braverman has become a favorite for targeting Muslim fundamentalists, Rishi Sunak’s approval rating has dropped drastically

Rishi Sunak’s approval rating among Conservative members has fallen to its lowest level since becoming Britain’s prime minister. Sunak’s approval rating turned negative for the first time, according to a monthly survey of party members by the ConservativeHome website. His satisfaction rating was -2.7 in June. This is a significant drop from May when his approval rating was +21.9 and from +49.9 from October 2022 when he became prime minister. Sunak’s rating downgrade comes at a time when the government is upset with the Bank of England’s decision to hike interest rates by five percent.

Sunak, a British Indian and son-in-law of Narayan Murthy, is one of a record nine cabinet ministers with negative ratings. Others include Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, Level-Up Secretary Michael Gove and Deputy PM Oliver Dowden. The country’s Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who is leading Britain’s controversial policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda, has a very positive rating of 30.4 and is the best. However, the rating of former PM Boris Johnson and Theresa May can be a matter of some relief for Sunak. While Johnson’s rating came in at -33.8, May’s was at -51.2.

The ConservativeHome site explains what Sunak believes are the main challenges facing Britain and how he intends to overcome them. It says Sunak’s five pledges like halving inflation and stopping small boats are not enough. Prime Ministers who made a lasting impact, such as Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair, had a mission that friends and foes alike understood, even if they didn’t like it.
