British-Indian schoolboy takes stationery to war-torn Ukrainians to Poland

An award-winning Indian-origin schoolboy has traveled to Poland with his parents to hand over books and other stationery products collected in the UK to Ukrainian children displaced by Russia’s invasion to raise funds. Bolton’s meeting in Greater Manchester in northern England Paul Kumar arrived in the Polish city of Krakow earlier this week ahead of the one year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on Friday. According to local reports, Kumar and his family visited the ‘Meeting Point Integration Centre’, organized in collaboration with UNICEF.

The center is being run by Zustrickz Foundation and others. During this humanitarian mission, Kumar tweeted, “Most importantly, I made a lot of new friends whom I will meet again.” Also donated to the nearby public library, so that children in Poland and Ukraine could use them. The schoolboy’s humanitarian mission is supported by a number of organizations including Tesco staff and the National Literacy Trust.

Kumar washed vehicles to raise funds and donated his pocket money to the ‘Ukraine Schools Appeal’ last year. He has received the ‘Princess Diana Award 2022’ for his efforts to raise funds in this way and is also the Evil Ambassador of London-based ‘Social and Humanitarian Action’. In the year 2020, she was awarded the British Prime Minister’s ‘Point of Light Award’ for raising funds for social causes through a self-published book titled ‘Covid Christmas Parade’ during the Covid lockdown. This student raised funds for the National Literacy Trust to support children whose education was adversely affected by COVID-19.
