British PM Rishi Sunak cracks down on free ‘vapes’ for kids

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday launched an action to protect children from “corrupt companies and online bullies”, saying, “My daughters are 10 and 12, and I don’t want to see the way vapes are marketed, promoted or marketed.” And sold, they should be attracted to them. Sunak said, “I am concerned about the rapid rise in vapes addiction among children and appalled by reports of illegal vapes containing lead in the hands of school children. I am taking further action today to crack down on firms who illegally target our children with these products.” Recent National Health Service (NHS) figures for the year 2021 showed nine per cent of children aged 11 to 15 use e-cigarettes or vapes, compared to six per cent in 2018. In vapes the user inhales the smoke inside the mouth through a device. Nicotine-containing ingredients are also sometimes used in vapes.
