BSE MCap created history, crossed Rs 4 lakh crore

A historic rally has been going on in the Indian stock market for a long time. Amidst the historic rally, new records are continuously being set in the domestic stock market. New records are also being made continuously. A similar new record has been made this year in the financial year 2024. The stock market had reached its highest peak during this period.

Now it has again succeeded in creating new history. A new history has been created in the domestic stock market on Monday, April 8. The mcap of companies listed on BSE has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark for the first time.

BSE MCAP created history

According to the BSE website, the market capitalization of companies listed on BSE has reached around Rs 40088716 crore in the initial session. This is the first time when the mcap of the Indian stock market has crossed Rs 400 lakh crore.

Nifty made record

Domestic indices rose in early trade on Monday amid a positive trend in global markets and foreign fund inflows. Sensex and Nifty reached their respective record levels. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex jumped 307.22 points to hit a record high of 74,555.44 and NSE Nifty rose 79.6 points to 22,593.30. Nifty hit its all-time high of 22,623.90 points and BSE hit its all-time high of 74,658.95 points after early deals.

Among the Sensex listed companies, shares of Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank and JSW Steel were among the gainers. Shares of Wipro and HDFC Bank suffered losses. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 were in profit, while China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss. US markets closed with a mainly positive trend on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 1.61 per cent lower at US$89.71 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1,659.27 crore on Friday.
