Kathmandu : A passenger bus skidded off a main highway and fell into a river in Nepal’s Bagmati province on Wednesday, killing at least eight people and injuring around 15 others. The bus was going from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Police search operation continues

Dhading Police Chief SP Gautam Mishra said that the search operation for the rest of the passengers is going on. He told that near Gajuri waterfall, the bus got off the road and fell into the Trishuli river. He said that senior police constable Surbir Bumi of Regional Police Office, Gajuri told that policemen have been deputed for rescue. Sharmila Bisural, vice-president of Gajuri Rural Municipality, said that half of the bus was submerged in water.

Seriously injured people sent to Kathmandu

Dhading police chief SP Mishra further said that 13 seriously injured people have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment, while other injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Gajuri Hospital. Mishra said that the police are yet to ascertain the total number of passengers in the bus and details regarding the incident are yet to come.
