Shareholders and creditors of Reliance Industries have approved the plan to separate the company’s financial services arm Reliance Strategic Investment Limited (RSIL). Housing loan company HDFC Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 4,425 crore on a standalone basis in the last quarter of FY 2022-23 due to higher interest income. Similarly, Tata Power’s consolidated net profit in the March quarter grew by over 48 per cent to Rs 939 crore. The profit of the company increased mainly due to increase in revenue. TVS Motor Company’s consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2023 increased by 21 percent to Rs 336 crore. With the increase in sales, the profit of the company has also increased.

Coal India’s quarterly and annual results will be announced on May 7.

Domestic equity markets returned to a positive note on Thursday, with both the major indices rising around one per cent each on foreign fund inflows and buying in some large companies like HDFC and Reliance Industries. The BSE Sensex climbed 555.95 points to close at 61,749.25. The Nifty also gained 165.95 points, or 0.92 percent, to reach 18,255.80. Among the companies included in the Sensex, Bajaj Finance, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and Tata Steel registered gains.
