Pro-Khalistan leader and Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was booked by Punjab Police on charges of promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion or race. Police said on Wednesday that the FIR was lodged at Sultanwind police station in Amritsar on January 23. In a video posted on social media, Pannun reportedly claimed that Amritsar’s Shri Durgiana Temple has no historical significance in Hinduism. The pro-Khalistan leader also reportedly warned the temple management to close its gates and hand over the keys to the Golden Temple administration.
