Ceasefire between Israel and Hamas extended for one day

Qatar said Israel and Hamas had agreed to extend by another day a temporary ceasefire that was set to expire on Thursday. Qatar has played the role of mediator between Israel and Hamas for the ceasefire.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the terms of the ceasefire would remain the same, with Hamas releasing 10 Israeli hostages per day in return for Israel releasing 30 Palestinian prisoners. Mediators were trying desperately to reach an agreement by Thursday to take the ceasefire forward.
