China-Afghanistan-Pakistan meeting brings stability in the region

After attending the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting hosted by India on May 4-5 in Goa, Chinese Foreign Minister Xi Jinping arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit where he participated in the China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue. Appreciated the successful organization of Pakistan has many hopes from this visit.

Some experts said that since the Ukraine crisis, global security is facing more challenges, and for the three neighboring countries, it is highly necessary to jointly safeguard regional security. The resumption of the trilateral mechanism shows that the three countries are keen to jointly address security challenges and normalize such mechanisms in dealing with regional and hotspot issues.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are neighbors of China, share good political relations with China, and they are aware of China’s role not only between Saudi Arabia and Iran but also on Ukraine crisis, so they both have expectations from China. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Kang and his counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, after meeting in Islamabad, resolved to work together for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. On this occasion, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister in the Afghan Interim Government was also present in Islamabad.

This meeting is very important for both Pakistan and Afghanistan at a time when both countries are going through very bad economic conditions.
